Wahine remain No. 2, Utah St. match still on

The Hawaii women's volleyball team (23-0) retained its No. 2 ranking yesterday in the USA Today/CSTV Top 25 Coaches Poll.

The Rainbow Wahine's schedule also stayed the same. There were discussions between the Hawaii and Utah State coaching staffs yesterday that next Tuesday's match at USU would be canceled.

Aggies coach Burt Fuller told the Star-Bulletin that the cancellation issue revolved around his team being competitive. Fuller said that four of his starters were injured and that he was down to nine players, including two defensive specialists.

Both schools have agreed to play the match, the last of the season for struggling Utah State (9-15). Hawaii will then take on No. 19 Utah (21-4) Nov. 24 at Salt Lake City.
