Mai Tai gives break
to young musicians

OAHU'S BUDDING musicians have a chance to get heard on Monday and Tuesday nights, thanks to the return of the "Mai Tai Rumble" at Ala Moana Center.

As the name implies, all the action takes place at the Mai Tai Bar, where Island 98.5's Tati hosts the first-round semifinals tonight at 9 p.m.

Kapulu, Dagra, Hot Rain and Bad Mood will be joined by last night's qualifiers, with two openings available in the finals on Nov. 30. And following each night's competition is the "Rumble Aftershock" concert, which features Malie this week.

Applications are still being accepted for the second round in both the island contemporary and open mic categories; stop by the Mai Tai Bar for an application, or visit www.maitairumble.com
