Doi captures HSWGA event at Waikoloa

Beverly Doi won the 20th Hawaii State Women's Golf Association Tournament at the Waikoloa Beach course on the Big Island yesterday.

Doi led after Saturday's first round with a net 65 and finished yesterday with a net 72, four strokes ahead of runner-up Gen Nishi.

Proceeds from the event benefit the HSWGA and its efforts to promote golf among women.

Jen Loo was named to the All-Big Sky Conference women's soccer first team by a vote of the league's coaches.

The sophomore from Mililani started all 16 matches for the 7-6-3 Bengals. She tied for the team points lead with 10 on three goals and four assists.
