The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.



CPF hits record high

Central Pacific Financial Corp., picking up momentum since its merger closed with CB Bancshares Inc. in mid-September, rose 6.3 percent this week to an all-time high in leading nine other stocks in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index. The parent of Central Pacific Bank and City Bank closed yesterday at $32.46 to increase its gain for the year to 8.1 percent.

Barnwell Industries Inc., which conducts oil and gas exploration in Canada and has leasehold land on the Big Island, rose 4.6 percent to $50.75, also an all-time high.
