In the Mix

There’s plenty of choices
for Halloween

THINGS should be pretty busy this weekend, with Halloween falling on a Sunday and three anniversary parties lined up over the next few days.

Tonight at Club Bliss (formerly the Velvet Lounge), "Connect Four" celebrates one year of underground hip-hop at the Keawe Street nightspot.

Hosted by Sean D. and Ion Myke, the party features DJs Deadfoot, Wrong One, Risup and The 45 Revolver, with members of the Waikiki B-Boys also on hand to wow the crowd with their moves.

The best part about the anniversary? Everyone 18-and-over who shows up after 10 p.m. tonight gets in for free ...

TOMORROW at Club Galaxy, commemorate 11 years of debauchery at the "Dungeon" by dressing up and getting freaky at one of the raunchiest parties on Oahu.

Doors open at 10 p.m. for the 18-and-over crowd (it's BYOB if you're old enough to drink), and you'll be able to just watch or even get involved with the "Iron Cross," "Nasty Nook" or even "The Cage" ...

ON SATURDAY night, "The Lion's Den" marks its one-year anniversary at Indigo with special guest DJs Scotch Bonnet and Mr. Mention.

But the Pacific Sounds International crew doesn't stop there -- local favorites Ooklah the Moc will perform, with local DJs Metal-X, Ichard, Dunza, Mr. Bone and Kaikua also on hand to serve up platters of reggae goodness.

The fun starts at 9 p.m. on Saturday, and you pay just $5 cover if you're in costume ...

DON'T WANT to wait until Sunday to celebrate Halloween? Lucky for you, there are more than enough parties to go around this weekend.

Check out Studio 1 tomorrow, as Empyrean Productions hosts the "Hexy Sexy Halloween Party," starting at 10 p.m. DJs Kee and Abnormal will spin, with Star 101.9's Maleko sharing hosting duties with Sondra Barker ...

OVER AT Club Pauahi, "POPular" hosts My Ex Is Dead, Star Scream, Dewey Decimal's Sister of Lust, Magnum Carnage and Dead Monkeys, with DJ Kause in the mix between live sets.

Doors open at 10 p.m. and all ages are welcome ...

BESIDES ALL the usual stops on Halloween, one place worth checking out is a new nightspot called The O Lounge.

Impact Events will produce the "Color Splash Masquerade Party," with a live performance by TRK and DJs Kutmaster Spaz and Mr. Goodvybe on the wheels of steel. Call 944-8436 for more info ...

AND IF you're looking for something different on Halloween, give the folks at Wild Side Specialty Tours a call.

They'll host a special evening sail that departs from the Waianae Boat Harbor at 5:30 p.m. You'll get to watch the sunset, then listen to ghost stories while cruising off the Leeward coast. Call 306-7273 ...
