A Pomeranian named Hokulani was the winner of the costume contest during K-9 Game Day yesterday at Thomas Square. Norman Dung, at top, is the dog's owner. The event, put on by the Hawaii Humane Society, celebrated Love-a-Dog Month.

La Pietra Hawaii School for Girls hosted its annual children's fair yesterday, featuring games, interactive arts and crafts and activities geared toward children. Leah Takahata had fun petting a cow in the petting zoo. Money raised from this event, which has been a tradition for more than 35 years, helps enrich school programs.
