Deep in his thoughts, a soldier walked away yesterday from the burial ceremony of Spc. Kyle Fernandez at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery in Kaneohe. Fernandez, a 26-year-old soldier from Pearl City, was killed Oct. 14 in southern Afghanistan along with Sgt. Brian Hobbs when their Humvee struck a homemade bomb.
