Kavet returns to Studio 1

AFTER BEING on hiatus for a few months, Kavet the Catalyst returns to Studio 1 with a special edition of "Trip the Lights" tomorrow night.

This month's party features what's being billed as Hawaii's first beat battle -- Ion Myke, Sentric, RaceSkelton, Westbrook, Freedom, STU, Aislin and DJ Monkey are all signed up to participate. DJ Oliver Twist and members of the Nocturnal Sound Krew will also perform, and artwork from Woebot and photographer Chad Uyeno will be on display throughout the evening.

Doors open at 9 p.m. tomorrow night for the 18-and-over crowd, and a $5 cover charge will be in effect. Check out www.lightsleepers.net for more info ...

A NEW after-hours party makes its debut this weekend, in a location that might surprise you.

Following a successful seven-year anniversary celebration by the Stone Groove Family a couple of weeks back, Flash Hansen has partnered with Matty Boy Hazelgrove and G-Spot to host "Club 301" at the Paradise Showclub.

Yes, you read that right -- this one's taking place at the adult establishment formerly known as the Penthouse Club. But you can forget about watching ladies take their clothes off onstage during this party. There will be burlesque dancers performing instead.

"We want to keep this classy," said Hansen.

Kicking off at 4 a.m. every Friday and Saturday night, "Club 301" will feature an all-star lineup of deejays. Among those confirmed to spin: DJs KSM, SubZero, G-Dog, RacerX, Byron the Fur, Shawn G., IKON, Ejay, Nalu, Rundown, Taharba, A2Z, Matthew Grim, Dawn and mrbRown.

And as always, VIP booths are available -- send an e-mail to vipbooth@hotmail.com for details ...

OVER AT the Buddha Bar, three new parties get their start over the next week.

Tomorrow night, DFX Entertainment and Threat Options present "The Good Times Campaign," featuring DJs Mixmaster B, Sonik, Stealth, Jay Tee, Blam and MC Jamal. Doors open at 9 p.m. for the 21-and-over crowd, and you can get in free before 11 p.m. with a flyer ... On Saturday, Daniel J hosts a birthday celebration for all you Libras out there. DJs Jrama, Sovern-T, Silvana, Fanny and Fez will be joined by special guest Tim Dawg, and Lingerie Heaven will present an "Angels-a-GOGO" fashion show ... And getting its start next Tuesday night is "The Bounce," a party featuring music that's described as "throwbacks minus the backpacks." DJs Eskae, Compose, Big Jon, Forty-Five and Mr. INC will help kick off the first night ...

AND DON'T forget that this month brings Oktoberfest parties to the islands. One event worth checking out is Saturday's "Oktoberfest: Hawaiian Style" at Koko Marina.
