owner from attending
his isle party


Benihana owner Rocky Aoki's trip here to hold his 66th birthday party and mark the 40th anniversary of Benihana at Hilton Village Saturday was blown away by the typhoon that hit Japan. The storm forced fight cancellations. But guests showed up for Rocky's party, anyway. Former Gov. John Waihee gave the kanpai. Ben Wong of "Hawaii Goes Fishing" on OC16 says there's a reason Frank Goto would stand on the stairs as he oversaw the United Fishing Agency fish auction at Kakaako daily for the past few decades. When the agency moved out of the old facility to Pier 38, some of the guys cut part of the steel stairway off, put it on wheels and moved it to the new facility. So vertically challenged Frank gets to stand tall on the stairs, just as he did before the move. But these stairs lead nowhere ...
