BYUH opens regionals strong

Dillon Porter and Dorian Porada from the BYUH men's tennis team, and Adrienn Hegedus and Jing Jing Liu from the women's team won all of their singles matches at the Wilson/ITA West Regionals yesterday in San Diego.

Hegedus and Liu teamed up to win their only doubles match of the tournament as well, while Porada and Porter came up short in their only doubles match on the opening day.

Chaminade hires former HPU coach

Longtime Hawaii Pacific assistant basketball coach Darrell Matsui accepted a position on the Chaminade basketball staff yesterday.

According to Chaminade head coach Aaron Griess, Matsui's duties will include recruiting and game preparation.

Selection committee set for Hula Bowl

The American Football Coaches Association selected five former college head coaches to handle the player selection process of the 59th Hula Bowl, scheduled for Jan. 22 at War Memorial Stadium.

Former TCU and Tulsa head coach F.A. Dry will chair the committee that includes Spike Dykes, LaVell Edwards, Hayden Fry and George Perles.
