Rainbows claim Big Wave

The University of Hawaii Rainbow Wahine cross country team claimed its first title of the season by winning the Big Wave Invitational yesterday with a total of 37 points.

BYUH's Chelsea Smith finished in a time of 14:37 to claim the individual title at Kaneohe Klipper Golf Course. Smith's win helped lead the Seasiders to a second-place finish with 47 points.

UH line coaches to speak at Quarterback Club

University of Hawaii football coaches Mike Cavanaugh and Vantz Singletary, as well as television personality John Noland, will be the guest speakers at the Honolulu Quarterback Club tomorrow.

Bryan Clay and Leilani Okuda will be given the Sportsperson of the Month award for August.

The weekly luncheon is held at the Pagoda Ballroom and starts at 11:30. The program starts at noon. The public is invited.

Sea Warriors sweep

Hawaii Pacific cruised to a lopsided victory over Hawaii-Hilo yesterday, 30-22, 30-18, 30-22.

HPU's Barbara Martin put down 11 kills to help her team improve to 8-1 for the season. Hawaii-Hilo dropped to 3-8.
