Volkswagen racer and enthusiast Andrew Cardenas of Waipahu admired the engine in the rear of a 1956 "beetle" on display at the VW Club of Hawaii car show yesterday near McCoy Pavilion at Ala Moana Park. The show, dubbed "Drive Out Hunger," doubled as a canned-goods drive for the Hawaii Foodbank.
