HSTA backs 7 for BOE

The Hawaii State Teachers Association has announced its Board of Education endorsements.

They are Herbert Watanabe (Big Island), Margaret Cox (Kauai), Denise Matsumoto (Honolulu), Breene Harimoto (Leeward Oahu), Cec Heftel (Oahu, at large), Nobleza Magsanoc (Oahu, at large) and Garrett Toguchi (Oahu, at large).

"We are pleased to recommend these candidates for this year's primary election as they have helped put education at the forefront, proving themselves to be true friends of education," said HSTA President Roger Takabayashi. "They have excellent track records on issues of importance to educators and students."

HSTA represents more than 13,000 public school teachers statewide.
