‘Hawaii’ showing
improves with new episode

Ratings for NBC's police drama "Hawaii" improved during its second episode Monday night after a lukewarm showing in its premiere last week.

Preliminary Nielsen ratings for Monday's 8 p.m. broadcast averaged 9.9 million viewers and 3.9 rating/10 share in the adults 18 to 49. "Hawaii" easily beat the second broadcast of Fox's TV's home-makeover show "Renovate My Family," which had 5.6 million viewers and 2.7/7 ratings/share.

"Hawaii" held most of its lead-in from "Fear Factor" which dominated its hour in adults 18 to 49, although the series lost some viewers and the demographic in its second half-hour.

Ratings for last night's "Hawaii" episode are not yet available.
