Lanai, Augie wrapping
up ‘Comedy Shack’

FOLLOWING a successful summer run, Island 98.5 morning duo Lanai and Augie wrap up eight weeks of "Lanai and Augie's Comedy Shack" tomorrow night.

Joining them onstage at Dave and Buster's are fellow comedians Champ, Shawn Felipe and Stan Ige. A variety of local bands have also participated in the show by performing a live acoustic set before things get started at 7:30 p.m.

This week, Inoa'ole will open things up, and a second show (without the live music) has been added at 9:30 p.m. Tickets are $12 each for "Lanai and Augie's Comedy Shack;" call 589-2215 for more details ...

LOOKS LIKE things have calmed down a bit for the Buddha Bar, which occupies the space in Waikiki that used to be the House of Hong.

Promoters continue to throw parties there after the owner got things squared away with the Honolulu Liquor Commission -- DJ Kee is the latest to come on board with events on Sunday and Tuesday nights.

Along with serving as one of the resident DJs on Sundays, Kee is also pushing "Massive Attack Tuesdays," which features a mash-up of Hip-Hop, Soul, House, Acid Jazz, Funk and Downtempo Breaks.

Plus, no cover charge on either night means more money for drinks ...

OVER AT the Mercury Lounge, two monthly parties take place this weekend.

First up is "Le Fonque," which focuses on underground tracks from the United Kingdom this month. DJs Toki and Monkey will bust out some "mad wicked dub-style UK breakstep" that's guaranteed to broaden your musical horizons. Cover is $5 for tomorrow's 21-and-over party, but you can get in free if you show up before 11 p.m.

On Saturday, "Symbiosis" takes place at the lounge starting at 10 p.m. DJ Badmouth is the featured guest this month, with Jesse Seymour showing up to play the congas. DJs A2Z, Kavet the Catalyst, Danny Yun and Darryl D will also be in the house, as will MC Jamal and the En-Light fire performance group.

Cover is $5 before 11 p.m. on Saturday; you'll be charged $7 if you show up afterwards. And while this party is 21-and-over only for most of the night, those of you 18-and-over are welcome to join the fun after 2 a.m. ...

AND ON Sunday, Doorman Productions and the Stone Groove Family present the grand opening of "Club deVille" at the Living Room.

DJs G-Dog, SubZero and Jrama resurface at the lounge in Fisherman's Wharf after wrapping up five years of Sunday nights at Brew Moon. They'll be joined on the decks by DJ Zack and the Architechs' DJ Delve.

Doors open at 10 p.m. on Sunday, following a VIP-only preparty that starts at 9 p.m. As is typically the case with most of Matty Boy Hazelgrove's parties, VIP booths are available if you're willing to spend the money; e-mail cadillacofclubs@ yahoo.com for all the details ...
