Body of man found floating in Hilo Bay
The body of a 48-year-old Hilo man was found floating in shallow waters just offshore Hilo Bay yesterday, Hawaii County police said. The victim's name was not released, pending notification of relatives.Investigators do not suspect foul play, police said.
Police received a call at 7:05 a.m. of a body floating offshore in the bay. Fire officials helped move the body to an accessible area at Bay Front near the lighthouse.
Police said the man was last seen at about 4 p.m. Wednesday. Hawaii County fire officials said the man's personal belongings were found in the area.

Sexual assault case results in man's arrest
Police arrested a 25-year-old man Tuesday for allegedly sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman at her Village Park home Aug. 22.Police said the woman had invited friends over to party. She permitted two male friends to spend the night after drinking alcohol, police said.
The woman awoke at about 1 a.m. to find one of the men sexually assaulting her, police said.
The man was arrested for first-degree sexual assault Tuesday.
He was released pending investigation.
