104.3 XME’s annual
luau is tomorrow

RADIO station 104.3 XME will wrap up summer with a bang during its annual "End of Summer Luau" at Hawaiian Waters Adventure Park tomorrow.

Gates open at 10:30 a.m. for families to enjoy the water park, with special $17 wristbands being sold that allow for unlimited rides. Don't want to get wet? As long as you're just hanging out, admission during the event is absolutely free!

During the day, XME DJs Krazy K and LX will provide aural entertainment, and live performances by local boy Kona (also known as Island Boy, night jock on the station) and Oahu-based rapper Noxious are also scheduled.

Headlining the afternoon's performances is dancehall reggae artist Mr. Vegas, who released his third album, "Pull Up," in July. Call 296-1403 for more info ...

DRUM-N-BASS fans didn't have to wait too long for the promoters behind "Audiolab" to find a new home.

Starting this month, the party moves from Fridays to Saturdays and switches venues to the Mercury Lounge.

Joining DJs Konception and BassX downstairs on the decks will be DJ Nightstalker and MC XYZ. Members of the AYA crew will hold it down upstairs in the Mercury's VIP room.

Doors open at 10 p.m. for this 21-and-over party; $5 gets you in. Call 228-2486 ...

AND SINCE Monday is a holiday, Sunday night should offer a lot of different choices for night crawlers this weekend.

After being gone for a few years, Fusion Waikiki hosts a one-night-only return of "Kids Klub" at the alternative nightspot on Kuhio Avenue.

While I can't say I've ever actually been inside this place, I've heard some of the stories that made "Kids Klub" legendary, so I'm sure this party will draw folks out of the woodwork.

DJs KSM and Sleeze will provide the tunes on Sunday, and there will also be a performance by members of the House of Chandelier. Ollywood, Shirley Kong and Viki Vagina will host. A $5 cover will be in effect for this 21-and-over party ...

AS ALWAYS, Rick Rock comes out firing on all cylinders this weekend -- on top of his usual Friday night at Pipeline and Saturday night at Reign, he'll team up with IMF Visions' Ian Fernandez to present "The Penthouse" on Sunday night at the Hanohano Room.

What makes this party different, you ask? It will be the only spot on Sunday night where the crowd is limited to those 25-and-over. DJ Wu-Chang will spin the best of the '80s, '90s and today, and there will be giveaways by the Diamond Factory, Nick's Fishmarket, Neiman Marcus and others. Call 296-1027 for details ...

ALSO TOSSING its hat into the ring on Sunday night is Partymasters Hawaii, which hosts "Road Trip" at the Turtle Bay Resort. A $15 cover charge gets you picked up in Manoa and driven to the North Shore, where a complimentary martini tasting is planned before G-Spot gets in the mix. Call 957-0303 for reservations ...
