‘North Shore’ comes
to ‘Hawaii’ in
premiere party

NBC's "Hawaii" premiere party was a great success Sunday. Even "North Shore" co-star Jason Momoa was spotted. Now that "Hawaii" is out, Momoa is going to have to share those screaming fans with "Hawaii" co-star Eric Balfour. The two were surrounded by girls. I wonder if Momoa can sing too? ... More on Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz -- Diaz, six friends and two surfboards arrived on Oahu by private jet Friday from Maui, where the couple rented a beachfront house near Lahaina. Timberlake and two male friends spent part of Friday looking at homes for sale. Diaz has been considering purchasing property on Oahu and was looking at some beachfront digs in the Diamond Head area this weekend. If you see Diaz, wish her a happy 31st birthday. She celebrated at a bash last night. ... Timberlake fans will be happy to know that filming wrapped up for the movie "Edison," which is scheduled to be released next year. Timberlake plays Joshua Pollack, a young journalist who uncovers a group of corrupt cops. The movie also stars Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman and LL Cool J. ... Speaking about LL Cool J, did you catch him on MTV's VMA show Sunday night? He was plugging his new album DEFinition, which was released today, and his new clothing line, The James Todd Smith, which will debut in Las Vegas. I hope his clothing line includes the tees that the models were wearing on the VMA show that had a screen on it playing his latest video. ... Also at the VMA show was local boy Braxton Olita. I spoke with him Saturday while he was taking a break from rehearsing Ashlee Simpson's "Pieces of Me," which they performed at the VMA pre-show. He sounded a little tired, which is understandable since the group recently returned from touring in Singapore and Japan, then performed two shows in California -- one at Knott's Berry Farm and the other at Sea World -- before hitting Miami for the VMA show. Olita said the shows went well but what was cool was that the band got a behind-the-scenes tour of Sea World and he got to hang with some of the animals. ... 1998 Castle High School graduate and decathlon silver medalist Bryan Clay will be in town this weekend. You can meet him at 10 a.m. Saturday at Windward Community College. He'll also be shooting an anti-drug commercial at Castle High School's track. ... With all the filming going on around town, those who saw a wedding taking place at the Ko Olina lagoon Sunday, where Fox's "North Shore" films part of its hotel series, may think it was a fictional wedding. Nope, it was real. Brenda Kyle, vice president of production at Disney's Touchstone, got hitched to ABC's chief financial officer James L. Hedges. Touchstone produces "Lost," which had its premiere at Saturday's Sunset on the Beach. ...
