FREDALBA ROCKS THE WAVE: Cameras were rolling and the dance floor was packed Saturday as Fredalba shot footage for its first music video at the Wave Waikiki. Vocalist Eric Balfour, center, also known these days as Detective Christopher Gaines on NBC's new police drama, "Hawaii," proved himself a charismatic front man, while flautist Charmian Callon added an important melodic element and guitarist Tiffin "Rooster" Roley helped keep the music rooted in rock. Aside from an update of "When Doves Cry," the 65-minute set consisted entirely of original music from the group's album, "Uptown Music for Downtown Kids," or newly written material. Three of Balfour's "Hawaii" co-stars -- Sharif Atkins, Michael Biehn and Ivan Sergie -- stopped by to show their support but kept a low profile.

ELAINE DOES IT ALL: Security guard/fashion model Elaine Codilla was the guest of honor Thursday at "Tossed Salad," the fund-raiser held on her behalf at the Wave. She also took to the stage for the midnight fashion show, which featured eye-catching mix-and-match ensembles of garments and accessories from Ezekeil and Lingerie Heaven.

RECLAIMING THE GODDESS: Summer Partlon's performance as "The Magdalen" was one of the most mesmerizing "installations" in the Iona Contemporary Dance Theatre's "La Modonna" at Studio 1 on Friday. Partlon moved with apparently effortless grace despite being 7 1/2 months pregnant.

LATEX, LEATHER OR ...: It was Matt Grim in leather and Zana Tsutakawa in lacy lingerie for IMF Productions' "Latex, Leather & Lace" party at the Hanohano Room on Friday. Sondra Barker, not pictured, represented "latex" in a stunning high-fashion black club dress accented with a dramatic lace-up front.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TAYLOR!: Always-fashionable Joey Caldarone, just back from an Italian shopping trip, wished Taylor Freeman a happy 12th birthday Saturday afternoon as she celebrated with family and friends at Kailua Beach Park. A sudden squall didn't spoil the party or keep Taylor and her pals from enjoying the water.
