'CELEBRITY Island Moments," the latest episode of "Emme's Island Moments," airs 9 p.m. Thursday on KHON2, with a repeat 4 p.m. Aug. 22.

Emme Tomimbang revisits her special "Memories of Hawaii 5-0" featuring James "Danno" MacArthur's reflections on what makes a successful island-based television series. MacArthur, who started in theater, also reveals his plans to direct a play at Diamond Head Theatre.

There will also be interviews with Jason Scott Lee, Kelly Hu, Tia Carrere, Mark Dacascos, and former Columbia TriStar executive Chris Lee, who shares footage of promising work by the newest students of the University of Hawaii's Academy for Creative Media.

Interviews with Hollywood celebrities who have ties to Hawaii will also be part of the special, including Kevin Costner, Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa, Sigourney Weaver and Jackie Chan.

The show's Milestone Moment features the late Robert Kennedy Jr., who visited Hawaii five years ago to explore Hawaii's endangered ocean reefs.

Tomimbang also catches up with Hawaii's culinary masters who put Hawaii regional cuisine on the global fusion map. Alan Wong, Russell Siu, Jean-Marie Josselin and master wine sommelier Chuck Furuya toast Chef Roy Yamaguchi at the newly-opened Roy's at Ko Olina.

Sam Choy will also talk about his recent James Beard award and big changes for his annual Poke Festival.
