A Pearl Harbor petty officer has been charged with operating a crystal methamphetamine lab allegedly from two separate locations, the last being Navy quarters where she lived with her husband.

Petty Officer Theresa Moss, a member of Pearl Harbor's Personnel Support Detachment, was charged with manufacturing and distributing methamphetamine with her husband, Jimmy Yasay, and a friend, Faleu Lii.

Last month, a federal grand jury indicted Yasay and Lii and charged them with conspiracy to manufacture crystal meth, the manufacturing of crystal meth and maintaining a meth lab at the couple's home on Peltier Avenue in the Navy's Radford Terrace Housing.

Each of the federal counts carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in a federal penitentiary.

Evidence collected from a trash bin outside the couple's Radford Terrace home resulted in a search in July. The couple moved into the Peltier Avenue home in May.

The Navy charges against Moss allege that she and Yasay manufactured and distributed crystal meth between November and July.

The Navy also alleges that Moss first ran a meth lab at an Ewa Beach home from November to May. A Navy spokesman said Moss was not in Navy housing at that time.

Moss, a four-year Navy veteran, also was charged with being absent without authority on July 13 and allegedly using crystal meth for five months beginning in February.

An Article 32 hearing, similar to a civilian grand jury, still has to be held to determine whether Moss will face a court-martial for the alleged drug offenses.
