Man allegedly uses a stolen credit card

Police arrested a 23-year-old Kaneohe man yesterday for allegedly using a credit card stolen from a mailbox.

Police said the suspect tried to use a stolen credit card at 6:45 a.m. Feb. 18 at a business. When an employee noticed the name on the card was not the same person using the card, he notified the card owner, police said. The owner informed him it was stolen from his mailbox.

Before the employee could call police, the suspect left the premises.

On Wednesday a crime reduction officer recognized the suspect from a previous credit card case and arrested him for suspicion of second-degree forgery.

School worker accused in sexual assault of boy

Police arrested a 39-year-old groundskeeper yesterday for allegedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old boy last week at a Kailua school.

According to police, the boy said the man assaulted him after school Aug. 3 at about 3 p.m. Police did not give out the name of the school.

The suspect was arrested for suspicion of third-degree sexual assault and outstanding traffic warrants. He was released yesterday pending investigation.
