Twenty-eight members of YouthBuild Honolulu and the Youth Offender Demonstration Project graduated yesterday in a ceremony in the Honolulu Hale courtyard. Graduate Ryan Bernades received a lei and a kiss from his mother, Edwina Borges, following the event. Both programs, administered by the city Youth Services Center, offer people ages 16 to 24 opportunities to earn a high school diploma, complete vocational training and find employment.
