Rooftop benefit
puts cops on top

The Special Olympics Hawaii annual fund-raiser, "Cop on Top," during which police officers stay on a rooftop for at least three days and nights, is scheduled for Sept. 2-4.

Officers will stay at various Safeway locations until they raise at least $10,000 for special-needs children and adults.

The supermarket is offering a T-shirt for every $20 donation and a Papa John's Hero card for every $10 donation. During the week of the event, Safeway will give a portion of proceeds from sales of glazed doughnuts and 12-packs of Coke or Dr Pepper to Special Olympics. Call 943-8808, ext. 24, for details.
