Murray earns bronze medal for discus throw

Hawaii thrower Novelle Murray took third place in the discus at the North American, Central American and Caribbean (NACAC) championships at Sherbrooke, Quebec, yesterday.

Murray, who is the two-time defending champion in the discus, put up a score of 46.51 in her international debut. Rebecca Breisch of the United States won the event with a toss of 53.26 meters.

East meets West at lacrosse camp

The East Meets West Lacrosse Camp's second annual appearance on Oahu is set for Wednesday through Saturday at Kapiolani Park.

No experience is necessary to learn what enthusiasts call the "fastest game on two feet."

The camp owner is former Hofstra All-American and San Diego Westview High School coach Kevin Jacobs, with instruction from Whittier College coach Dave Schaller and San Diego Francis Parker High School coach Liz Percia.
