Hawaiian Electric declares dividend

Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. said yesterday it will maintain its next quarterly dividend at 31 cents a share, and that the dividend will not change for the foreseeable future.

The utility owner will pay the dividend Sept. 10 to shareholders of record as of Aug. 10. The dividend's current yield is 4.7 percent.

Meanwhile, analyst David M. Schanzer at Janney Montgomery Scott LLC downgraded Hawaiian Electric's stock yesterday to "market perform" from "buy," with a target price of $27 a share. The stock gained 15 cents yesterday to close at $26.65.

>> Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group has promoted Melinda Lorenzo to Dollar Rent A Car's Kona station manager. She will be responsible for coordination of in-fleet and turn-back of vehicles, managing fleet inventory and daily rates, staff supervision and customer-employee relations. She most recently served as a company rental sales agent.
