Hoop Jam 2004 basketball
lights up Kakaako
Jeff Ordonio was trying to block off more than the sun yesterday while goofing around with fellow Igado teammate Bishop Halmos during Hoop Jam 2004.
Children from the Curran family sought shade under a big umbrella in Kakaako yesterday. Charchar, 4, Cydney, 5, Charis, 6, Jayce, 7, and Alika, 5, sat together. The basketball tournament took place Saturday and yesterday. Teams could choose 3-on-3 half-court or 4-on-4 full-court double-elimination play.
The ball was up for grabs yesterday between "The Zone," of Ewa Beach, and "V2," of Punahou. The Ewa Beach wahine won to advance to the next round.
Parts of Pohukaina, Cooke and Halekauwila streets were blocked off in Kakaako to host the Hoop Jam 2004 event Saturday and yesterday.
