Sarento’s gives late-night
lounge a shot

TWO NEW parties get their start this weekend -- one at a familiar venue to local night crawlers, the other a new spot for the DJ and dancing crowd.

After lying low for months, Sarento's makes another run as a late-night lounge, partnering with Justin Yoshino, of Partymasters Hawaii, to present "Whisper" from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. every Friday.

According to Yoshino, "Hawaii is in need of an upscale lounge environment with the atmosphere, service and style of Las Vegas."

In addition to regular admission, special VIP tables will be available for high rollers who want to experience one of the latest nightclub trends, bottle service. Forget about buying individual drinks at the bar; now you can purchase an entire bottle of your favorite liquor and have cocktails mixed tableside.

Party people 21 and over are invited to check out "Whisper" at Sarento's; call 957-0303 for more info ...

ALSO STARTING tomorrow night, Architechs Hawaii and Kaizo Entertainment make the move to Aloha Tower Marketplace to host "Sauce," a new weekly at Chai's Island Bistro.

Doors open at 10 p.m. for the 21-and-over party, and recent changes to the restaurant include the addition of a satay bar and an emphasis on martinis for the late-night crowd.

As always, DJs Delve and XL will spin hip-hop and dancehall, with DJ Charles Lee also on hand to throw down some deep electronic goodness in Chai's outdoor dining area.

And as a special treat for opening night guests, there will be an open bar from 10 to 11 p.m. ...

GET DOWN and dirty tonight at Pink Cadillac as DJ Billy G hosts another foam party at the club from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.

If you still haven't been to one of these, think about dancing in a bubble bath (just without the water), and you'll have a good idea of what it's like. If things go smoothly, expect a layer of foam at least waist high once this party hits its stride.

Two separate areas also mean you can stay out of the foam and watch from a distance, or dive right in and get freaky with the rest of the 18-and-over crowd. Call 389-3216 for more info ...

OUT AND ABOUT: Reggae fans will be at Volcanoes Nightclub once again this weekend as the "Red Belly Reggae Summer Splash Concert Series" continues with a performance by Morgan Heritage tomorrow night. Three Plus, Bamboo, Humble Soul, THC and the Typical Hawaiians will also perform ... On Saturday, Natural Vibrations wraps up the "Steinlager Summer Circle Survivor Series" with a performance at the Hard Rock Cafe, starting at 9:30 p.m. ... Saturday also marks a special late-night edition of the "Pussycat Lounge" at the Wave Waikiki. DJ IKON will be on the decks downstairs while DJs Shawn G and Epic One hold it down upstairs. The fun starts at 2 a.m. following Dub Phylum's set at the club ...
