Star-Bulletin Index

The Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin Index is a price-weighted index designed to measure the performance of Hawaii-based companies. The index was developed with a base value of 100 as of December 31, 1999. A chart of the index which shows the weekly performance of its members is published weekly in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin.


Cyanotech comeback
Cyanotech Corp., the worst performer in the Bloomberg Honolulu Star-Bulletin index this year, soared 33.9 percent this week after its stock rose by nearly a quarter yesterday in heavy trading. The maker of human and animal nutrients gained 33 cents yesterday to $1.66, its highest level since hitting $1.69 on Feb. 18. Cyanotech narrowed its loss for the year to 11.7 percent.
Hawaiian Holdings Inc., parent of Hawaiian Airlines, gained 7.3 percent to $6.87. Earlier in the week, Hawaiian reached a nine-year high of $7.15.
