» Bronson Sardinha (Kamehameha) is third in the Florida State League with 78 hits and sixth in batting with a .315 average. His FSL stats probably won't change since the New York Yankees promoted the third baseman to the Trenton Thunder in the Class AA Eastern League earlier this week.
» Kaulana Kuhaulua (Waianae, Long Beach State) has been promoted by the Minnesota Twins to the New Britian Rock Cats of the Eastern League from the Fort Myers Miracle of the Florida State League.
» Jeff Coleman (Hawaii) leads the Modesto Athletics with 10 saves. Modesto won the California League's Northern Division first-half title.
» Second baseman Rodney Choy Foo (Kailua) has been transferred by the Cleveland Indians from the Akron Aeros of the Class AA Eastern League to the Kinston (N.C.) Indians of the Class A advanced Carolina League. Choy Foo struggled at the plate in his first season of Class AA ball with a .194 batting average.
» The Texas Rangers purchased the contract of Justin Hall (St. Anthony) from the St. Paul Saints of the independent Northern League on Friday. The second baseman was the Northern League's third leading hitter with a .374 average and was 8-for-9 in his last two games with the Saints. He previously played in the Oakland and San Francisco organizations. He has been assigned to the Oklahoma Redhawks in the Pacific Coast League.
» Third baseman Pat Scalabrini (Hawaii) leads the Northern League in doubles (19), extra base hits (28) and slugging percentage (.693).
» William Quaglieri, who pitched for the Hawaii Rainbows in 2001 and 2002 before transferring to Loyola Marymount, signed with the New York Mets in May as a pre-draft, fifth-year senior. The right-hander redshirted at Purdue his freshman season before transferring to UH.
