Meeting to discuss
Waimanalo roadwork

The state Transportation Department will hold a public informational meeting to gather community input for a draft environmental assessment on proposed improvements along Kalanianaole Highway at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Waimanalo Public and School Library.

The project stretches from Olomana Golf Course to Waimanalo Beach Park.

The plan includes left-turn lanes near residential streets along the highway; "pullout" bus stop lanes to improve traffic and safety; and a new concrete sidewalk along the mauka side of the highway from Kumuhau Street to Inoaole Street, which is one of the primary routes for children going to Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate schools.

Comments for the report can be faxed to 692-7555 or mailed to the Transportation Department, Highways Division, Design Branch, Technical Design Services Office, 601 Kamokila Blvd., Room 688, Kapolei 96707, attention to Vincent Llorin.
