Mililani U-13 Gold team on to nationals

The Mililani Soccer Club's Under-13 boys Gold team hit the jackpot in Las Vegas, Nev., last week when they won the Division I championship in their age group in the U.S. Club West Regional.

The victory qualifies the U-13 team for the national championship tournament in Cary, N.C., July 20-25.

With little time to raise funds through traditional fundraising projects, the team is seeking contributions to help defray the expenses involved in participating in the national tournament.

"The level of play in the national tournament is something we here in the islands don't often get the chance to experience," said Mililani coach Jeff Yamamoto. "I hoping everyone who can, individual and corporate, will help these great kids represent Hawaii in the championships."

Tax deductible donations can be mailed to the nonprofit Mililani S.C., c/o P.O. Box 861687, Wahiawa, HI 97886 by July 15. For more information, call Gino Pellecchia at 625-7888.
