'3 Talk' rescheduled for Waimanalo

City Councilwoman Barbara Marshall has rescheduled her "3 Talk" community forum for Waimanalo to 7 p.m. Aug. 4 at the Waimanalo Public Library. The original date for the forum was canceled last month after Marshall underwent surgery to remove a cancerous tumor.

Any resident of Council District 3 is welcome at any of the forums to discuss concerns and issues relating to city government and services.

Marshall's next forums are scheduled for 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Kaneohe Community & Senior Center and at the same time on July 7 at St. John Lutheran Church in Kailua.

Electricians union supports Bainum

The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1186 has thrown its support behind Duke Bainum for mayor.

The 2,500-member union of construction electricians, cable employees and federal workers cited Bainum's commitment to provide staffing, training and support for city inspectors to enforce the electrical licensing law.

"Duke has always had the support of this union and its membership," said Gerald Yuh, the union's business manager and financial secretary.
