Greg Laurie will again speak nightly.

Hawaii Harvest will begin at 7 p.m. nightly on June 24-27 with Laurie speaking every night.

A highlight of the weekend will be the Summerfest in Kapiolani Park from 2-5:30 p.m. June 26. The free event aimed at a youthful audience will feature demonstrations by BMX bicyclist Thad Miller and skateboard professionals Lance Mountain and Orlando Baker, of Honolulu.

The afternoon event will provide a stage for local musicians including 7 Simple Pieces, Tyler Nakamura, Battle Royale, Kutmaster Spaz, Trisha Nakamoto and Koa Siu.

Harvest Jam, a praise and worship session geared for youths, will follow that evening in Waikiki Shell.

"Many people who attend Summerfest may not go to church, but they'll come to see an X-games athlete perform," said event manager Mark Finnigan.

Music at the evening revival sessions will be presented by:

» Katinas: The five Samoa-born brothers have won a Dove award and two ASCAP awards for their performance of vocal and instrumental music covering the gamut of hip-hop, soul and island sounds.

» Crystal Lewis: The singer and composer is a Dove award winner known for her rhythm-and-blues style.

» Kutless: The Oregon band has two albums combining plaintive vocalizing and hard rock.

» Doyle Dykes: The guitarist performs country and classic rock.

» 7 Simple Pieces: The island ensemble offer Christian sentiments in reggae, hip-hop and alternative rock sounds.

» New Hope Hula Halau will perform.

Members of 60 local churches are participating in organizing and staffing the evangelizing event, according to a Harvest Crusade release. Some 380 youths from Prestwood Baptist Church in Dallas will be here to sing in the choir and to work as volunteers at Summerfest.

The events are free. The gates will open at 6 p.m. nightly.

Laurie founded his church in 1972. He has taken the Harvest Crusade ministry to cities across the United States and Australia.
