Go now, Hawaii!: Moses Goods III, currently playing foul-mouthed older brother Wayne in Kumu Kahua's world premiere production of Lee Tonouchi's "Gone Feeshing," says he's moving to the mainland after the show closes. Goods expected to leave a year ago, but got so many good roles at Kumu Kahua, Honolulu Theatre for Youth, and the Honolulu African American Repertory Theatre that he kept delaying his departure. "Gone Feeshing" closes June 13 ...

R. Kevin Doyle is back from the Chicago Improv Festival with some new ideas after watching some of the mainland's best improv comedy acts perform. Hawaii's Loose Screws improv troupe has been invited to stage a shortened version of its landmark "Loose Screws Kabuki" show in Chi-town. The challenge now is to raise the "loose change" needed to cover the cost of taking it there ...

Folks who dismiss old-time Broadway musicals as fluffy escapist entertainment might reconsider after seeing Army Community Theatre's current revival of "Camelot." A scene in which King Pellinor (John Hunt) warns that Mordred (Dion Donahue) is being allowed too much freedom to speak out against government policies is eerily similar to current debates about how much freedom Americans should have to comment on our war in Iraq ... Martin Denny credits his daughter, Christina, with keeping him going since the death of his beloved wife. Denny recently tried his luck fishing, and entertained a lucky visitor with a mini-recital that included a "Porgy and Bess" medley, "Firecracker" and "Rhapsody in Blue" ...

Happy Birthday: To Bryan Bender, King Arthur in ACT's revival of "Camelot," who will be celebrating on Saturday ... also to Kapena DeLima (Monday), Augie T (Tuesday) and Palani Vaughan (Wednesday) ...

Good News for drum and bass fans: Dieselboy, currently touring in support of his new double CD, "The Dungeonmaster's Guide," has added a Hawaii show to his schedule. He'll fly out from Houston to play Studio 1 June 19 ...
