Buffanblu make move
into Star-Bulletin's top 3

Punahou shot up one spot to No. 3 in the Star-Bulletin's top 10 girls basketball media poll this week.

The Buffanblu beat Iolani in the Interscholastic League of Honolulu championship game last week, knocking the Raiders down two slots to No. 5.

Konawaena and Kahuku remained entrenched at No. 1 and No. 2.

Kalaheo climbed a little bit -- from No. 5, where it had been most of the season -- to No. 4.

Only one team fell out of the poll. Radford was No. 9 last week, but dropped off the radar screen after a playoff loss to McKinley.

The Tigers rose two positions to No. 8, while Lahainaluna entered the poll at No. 10.

The Lunas defeated previously unbeaten Baldwin to capture the Maui Interscholastic League tournament title. The two teams meet again Friday for the overall championship.

In other moves, the Bears fell one slot to No. 9, while Kaiser switched places with Kamehameha and climbed one peg to No. 6.
