Last chance for Mother's Day reservations. The big day is next Sunday. Here are some suggestions. Unless otherwise indicated, offers are for next Sunday only.


Something different

Brunch to go: Diamond Head Market and Grill is offering Mother's Day Brunch to You, a prepared meal that you pick up. It includes breakfast breads and coffee cake; fruit and sushi platters; Artichoke, Bacon and Leek Quiche; Apple-Sage Sausages and ham; Salmon Florentine en Croute; Lemon Peppered Asparagus and Roasted Chicken Pasta Salad; Curried Basmati Rice; and a dessert platter including chocolate-dipped strawberries and petits fours. The meal serves six to eight and costs $140. Orders will be taken until Friday. Call 732-0077.

Mother & Daughter Tea: Banyan Veranda at the Sheraton Moana Surfrider offers a fashion show and tea, 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday. Cost is $30, including tea, finger sandwiches and pastries, entertainment by George Street and a show of clothing and jewelry by Moonbow Tropics. Call 931-8383.

Dining and a show

OHANA Reef Towers: Funnymen Frank De Lima, Andy Bumatai and Paul Ogata entertain at brunch at the Palace Showroom in a "Mother's Day Comedy Triple Header." Brunch seating is at 10:45 a.m. with Hawaiian music by Larry Kaliloa. The show starts at noon. Tickets are $45, $27 children. Call 923-SHOW.

Ala Moana Hotel: The comedy of Da Bruddahs and the music of 'Ale'a are paired in brunch and dinner shows in the Hibiscus Ballroom. The buffet menu includes prime rib, salads, sushi and soup. Brunch runs 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and costs $35, $19.50 children. Dinner is 5:45 to 7:45 p.m. and costs $37, $20.50 children. Call 955-4811.

Cruises

Atlantis Adventures: Dinner cruise offers choice of buffet or five-course steak-and-lobster dinner. Check-in is 4:45 p.m. from Pier 6, Aloha Tower Marketplace. Kamaaina rates are $48, $32 children for the buffet and $60, $58 children for the dinner. Call 973-1311.

Buffets

Crouching Lion Inn: The Kaaawa restaurant offers brunch including snow crab legs, mahimahi, kalua pork and cabbage, honey-dipped chicken and breakfast items. Cost is $17.95, $15.95 seniors, $8.95 children. Call 237-8511.

Don Ho's Island Grill: Brunch includes entertainment by Teddy Fabella and Friends. Menu includes snow crab legs, poke, oysters, garlic chicken, mahimahi, kalua pork and cabbage, omelet and waffle stations. Cost is $29.95, $14.95 children. Call 528-0807.

Sansei Seafood Restaurant & Sushi Bar: Dinner buffet, Saturday and next Sunday; brunch next Sunday. Menu includes carved prime rib and leg of lamb; sauté station with Wok-Tossed Salt & Pepper Prawns and Pan-Seared Day Boat Scallops; and frying station with Panko-Crusted Ahi Sashimi and Japanese-Style Calamari Salad. Brunch includes omelet station; dinner includes pasta station. Cost for either buffet is $38, $19.50 children (keiki station also offered). Call 536-6286.

Sea Life Park: Brunch buffet at Sea Lion Cafe includes salad stations, omelets, waffles and hot entrees. Cost is $22.95, $11.45 children. Mothers receive free admission to park. Call 259-9911.

Sheraton Hotels: Lunch and dinner buffets at the Moana and Sheraton Waikiki, brunch and dinner at Princess Kaiulani, brunch at Royal Hawaiian. The Hanohano Room, Sheraton Waikiki, offers three-course dinner with entree choice of steamed moi or rib-eye steak; $65. Call 931-8383 for prices and menus at any of the hotels.

3660 on the Rise: Brunch includes omelet and Asian Caesar Salad stations, prime rib, leg of lamb, oysters on the half shell, Eggs Benedict, Pan-Seared Salmon, Chocolate Fountain. Cost is $34.50, $16 children. Call 737-1177.

Special Menus

Auntie Pasto's: The day's specials include Balsamic-Glazed Australian Lamb Chops ($18.95), Crab-Stuffed Salmon with Fettuccine Alfredo ($16.95) and free dessert for moms. Call 523-8855.

Dixie Grill: Southern-style specials start at 8 a.m., including Fried Green Tomato Benedict ($9), Praline Pecan Waffles ($9). At lunch and dinner, specials include Seared Salmon ($16), Smothered Chicken with Collard Greens ($14) and Maple Pecan Cheesecake ($5). Call 596-8359 (Ward) or 485-CRAB (Aiea).

L'Uraku: Four-course lunch includes entree choice of Pan-Roasted Monchong, Crab-Stuffed Mahimahi or Garlic Steak. Cost is $26 to $29, including two appetizers and dessert. Dinner choices are the monchong, Veal Cheek "Pot Au Feu," Ocean-Raised Moi & Manila Clam Cioppino or Mushroom-Crusted Rib Eye Steak. Cost is $39 to $43 for four courses. Call 955-0552.

Sunset Grill: The day's specials are Kiawe Grilled Mahimahi ($21.95), Mediterranean Seafood Stew ($24.95) or Barbecue Braised Short Ribs of Beef ($21.95). Call 521-4409.

Gifts for Mom

Morton's: All mothers receive a box of Godiva chocolates. The restaurant is open extended hours, 3 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Call 949-1300.
