Da Bruddahs -- Tony J. Silva, left, and James P. Roché -- perform on Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day is May 9,
so start eating-out
plans now

Mother's Day is May 9, two Sundays from today. If you're taking Mom out, better start planning now. Here are some suggestions. Unless otherwise indicated, offers are for May 9 only.

Dining in

If you'd rather not bother with going out -- or if Mom's favorite place is already booked up -- consider redirecting the cash toward a brunch to go.

This way, no one has to cook (let's face it, if you try to do brunch yourself, some moms in the extended family are likely to end up with some kind of kitchen chores).

Diamond Head Market and Grill, inspired by the popularity of turkey-to-go meals at Thanksgiving, is offering a Mother's Day Brunch to You: breakfast breads and coffee cake; fruit and sushi platters; Artichoke, Bacon and Leek Quiche; Apple-Sage Sausages and ham, Salmon Florentine en Croute; Lemon Peppered Asparagus and Roasted Chicken Pasta Salad; Curried Basmati Rice; and a dessert platter including chocolate-dipped strawberries and petit fours.

The meal serves six to eight and costs $140. Orders will be taken until May 7.

Call 732-0077.
