Eye care center displays art in Pan Am Building

Works of art entitled "Various Vision" by Carol D'Angelo and Dexter Doi are being shown through July 2 at the Laser Eye Center of Hawaii on the ground floor of the Pan Am Building on Kapiolani Boulevard.

D'Angelo and Doi have collaborated on exhibitions since 1995. D'Angelo's signature work consists of lush tropical flora populated by a myriad of animals, figures and flowers.

She is also known for cutout figures of athletes, rock stars and animals.

Doi's work includes the American Savings Bank calendar, the "Hawaii Five-O" 30th-anniversary poster and a portrait of Japanese pop star Namie Omuro.

"The two unique styles of art displayed together create an atmosphere that is both uplifting and tranquil," said Dr. Dennis Kuwabara, president of the Laser Eye Center of Hawaii. "We hope our patients and the public will enjoy the beautiful blend of vibrant colors and concepts."
