Bell rounds the bases
enough to beat Castle

Led by the play of catcher Matt Bell, Farrington defeated Castle 4-2 in a rain-postponed makeup baseball game yesterday afternoon.

Bell started off the game by clocking a 3-2, high fastball over the left center fence to put the Govs up by one before the Knights answered with two runs in the bottom of the first.

Bell helped erase that lead by scoring the tying and go-ahead runs in the third and fifth innings while helping pitchers Brian Cabral and Alison Tolentino shut out the Knights the rest of the way.

Castle head coach Joe Tom Jr. attributed their loss to "errors and lack of offensive punch," but also credited the Farrington defense with several outstanding plays. "We just didn't hit as well as we could have, but to our credit, we made the most of our attempts."
