Young volunteers Jasmine Melchor, 5, Veronica Glen, 12, Rachel Wagner, 9, and Delaney Whitson, 6, all from the Hawaii Cinderella Scholarship Program, helped collect stuffed animals at Pearlridge Center Uptown yesterday at the Seventh Annual Teddy Bear Round-Up sponsored by Prevent Child Abuse Hawaii and Partners for Prevention. An estimated 4,500 teddy bears and other stuffed animals were donated. The toys will be donated to family shelters, children's hospitals and other organizations that help families and children in crisis.

Kelley Menor, 23 months, returned to her Easter bunny basket yesterday with eggs in hand. Kelly, along with hundreds of other children, participated in the Halawa Complex Easter Egg Hunt. More than 3,000 eggs were hidden in the fields.





PASSOVER PREPARATIONS

Beginning tomorrow night, Chabad of Hawaii and other Jewish temples celebrate Passover, the eight-day holiday marking the deliverance of the Jews from slavery to freedom under Moses, with a traditional meal called the Seder, among other biblical customs. Here, Solomon Ostroff, 3, licked his lips in anticipation of drinking the first of four servings of grape juice during a mock or practice Seder service March 28 at the Daniel Levey Chabad Hebrew School.
