Nutter-Gaudet nearly
completes triple-double
for Leilehua

The Mules record a 48-39 OIA
West victory over Aiea


Pikake Nutter-Gaudet finished just one steal short of a triple-double, compiling 12 points, 12 rebounds and nine steals to lead Leilehua to a 48-39 Oahu Interscholastic Association West victory over visiting Aiea last night.

Na Alii (0-3) got to within four points in the third quarter before the Mules pulled away, leading by 10 to start the fourth and hanging on for the victory.

Brittaney Stafford had 12 points, two steals and one rebound for Leilehua (2-1), despite getting into foul trouble early.

The Mules secured the win in the fourth quarter by connecting on nine of 12 shots from the free-throw line. They shot 12-for-18 from the line for the night.

Kalei Castillo led Aiea with 10 points and Nicole Takemoto chipped in eight.

Nanakuli 25, Waialua 13: Waialua had no answer for Sierra Nakea as she outscored the entire Bulldogs team by herself 15-13 to improve Nanakuli's record to 2-1.
Waialua used a tight defense to hold Nanakuli to just one point in the first quarter, but struggled offensively and was held to just five first-half points.
