Broadwater starts
Radford winning

Radford's Brittiany Broadwater won the varsity individual AmeriCheer National Cheerleading Championship last night in Orlando, Fla.

"She was clearly a step above the rest of the competition," Radford coach Bo Frank said. "She was sharper, displayed outstanding jumps and out-tumbled her competition.

"I was a little nervous because in warm-ups, Britt rolled her ankle and came up really short in her tumbling pass. She sucked it up, tightened her shoestrings and went on to the main floor and rocked the place."

Earlier this month, Broadwater was named Hawaii's most valuable high school cheerleader and was selected to the all-state team.

Radford, the second-place finisher at the state championship meet March 13, is going for its second straight national team championship tonight. Baldwin is also competing in Orlando tonight.
