Chrisman named All-Region

BYU-Hawaii junior Jake Chrisman was named to the Daktronics NCAA II All-West Region First Team yesterday by the region's College Sports Information Directors of America.

Chrisman, a forward from Provo, Utah, was the only Pacific West Conference player named to the regional team. He led the conference and was 10th nationally scoring 22.7 points per game.

Chrisman was named PacWest Player of the Week five times and scored a season-high 42 points at Montana State-Billings in February.

Salukis bite Rainbow Wahine

Amy Harre threw a three-hitter as Southern Illinois defeated Hawaii 4-0 at Rainbow Wahine Softball Stadium last night.

The Salukis got on board in the second inning after Katie Louis hit a two-run homer. SIU scored in the fourth after Hawaii catcher Denise Dahlberg's check throw to second sailed into the outfield, scoring two runs.

Hawaii dropped to 15-14.

Hawaii downs Pilots

The Rainbow Wahine tennis team won its second match in as many days, defeating Portland 4-3 yesterday at the Central Oahu Regional Park Tennis Complex.

Hawaii (7-5) won two of the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead. The teams then split the six singles matches for the victory.

Pumas tamed: The third-ranked BYU-Hawaii men's tennis team defeated St. Joseph's College 9-0 yesterday inLaie.

Jeff Rice won his match at No. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0 and Dillon Porter and Leon So'onalole won their match at No. 2 doubles 8-0. The Seasiders (6-2) face Division I St. Louis today.
