Christian convention draws
more than 4,000 participants

The Rev. David Yonggi Cho, pastor of the 100,000-member Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, spoke yesterday at the convention.


The "Walk on Water" conference this weekend at the Hawai'i Convention Center drew more than 4,000 people from Hawaii and the mainland yesterday. Motivational speakers, authors and evangelists are featured at workshops that will continue at 10:15 a.m. today. Author and sociology professor Tony Campolo will speak on "Dealing with Conflicts of Ministry" at the 1:30 p.m. final general session. Today's seminars are open to the public for a $35 fee. Hawaiian Islands Ministries has sponsored the annual three-day conference for 21 years.
