The annual Beauty Event gives patrons a chance to try the latest cosmetic products.



Spring's fresh face shines at Neiman Marcus

Put your best face forward with the Beauty Event at Neiman Marcus, seven glam-packed days devoted to makeup, nail, hair and skin treatments, focusing the latest in beauty trends and products with demonstrations and makeovers.

The commotion starts Tuesday and continues through March 8 during store hours in the cosmetics department.

As usual, fragrance or cosmetics purchases of $85 or more will also snag you NM's exclusive bandanna print fabric tote filled with luxurious sample products, including Darphin Paris Firming Vitaskin Serum, Escada Island Kiss Eau de Toilette, Fresh Rice Body Cream, Kiehl's Amino Acid Shampoo, Natura Bisse Inhibit and Thierry Mugler Parfums' invitation for Innocent Eau de Parfum.

Tapestries by Hauoli specializes in natural fiber clothing, with a selection of silks, Tencel and washable linen suitable for women on the move.



'Leap to Elegance' with Chinese chamber

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii presents its 55th annual fashion show, "Leap to Elegance," Sunday at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

On the runway will be ready-to-wear garments from Morgan Beret, Tapestries, Hawaiian Moon, Hello Beautiful and Leslie Ann, and jewelry from Kimberly Furukawa, designer and owner of Designs for You. Furukawa specializes in handmade jewelry using semiprecious gemstones, Austrian Swarovski crystals and freshwater pearls, wire-wrapped with sterling silver and gold-fill. Her creations can be found at Chelsea's in Manoa Marketplace, Riches at Kahala Mall, Rafael at Ala Moana Center, Villa Roma at Ward Warehouse, and Barbara and Nails at Steven Michael's hair salon.

The show's theme recognizes the leap year and the Year of the Monkey. Doors open at 11 a.m. with boutique sales and a silent auction. The fashion show luncheon begins at 11:30 a.m. with the show taking place at 1 p.m. Tickets are $40. For more information, call 533-3181.
