IT ALL HAPPENED SATURDAY NIGHT!

BACKSTAGE AT THE WINTER BASH: Carole Baguio talked with Dave "Davey D" Daniel's, Program Director of KCCN/FM100 and Hawaiian 105 KINE, left, and "Radical Rob" Onekea of Sudden Rush, in the VIP area set up backstage for Duane Oyama's big Mass Appeal "Winter Bash" concert at the Waikiki Shell. Daniel's, who spells his name that way because he can, is celebrating the tremendous response to his new "Overdrive Live" DVD.

AFTER A GREAT SHOW: Alvin Chan congratulated Lynda Chanwai-Earle on her opening night performance in her one-woman show, "Ka Shuy," at the Paliku Theatre. Chanwai-Earle's play about the experiences of several generations of Chinese women in New Zealand addressed broader issues of race and identity in compelling style.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, BLAISE!: Valerie Flores, left, Dirk Fukushima, Sharissa Chun and Hingkie Han, were in the crowd at Ciao Mein for "Feng Shui." Lance Rae, Donna Chun, Nathan Wood and Donovan Dela Cruz were among the others who got in before the Hyatt parking lot closed and the club filled to capacity. Malia Song stole the show fashion-wise in a red-sequined mini-dress, and "Feng Shui" co-promoter Blaise Sato of Architechs celebrated his birthday with a lavish but low-profile party in Ciao Mein's Waterfall Room.
