Panel to talk about Mideast peace accord

The latest effort to establish peace between Israel and the Palestinians will be the topic of a public discussion at 1:30 p.m. tomorrow at Harris United Methodist Church, 20 S. Vineyard Blvd.

Panelists will explore the context of the Geneva Accords, an unofficial peace agreement signed last month by moderates from both sides. Public dialogue will be encouraged on the subject of the accord, which proposes removal of Jewish settlements from occupied Gaza and West Bank to make way for a Palestinian state. The accord has been denounced by the ruling party in Israeli and Palestinian militants.

The panel will be presented by the Friends of Sabeel, local supporters of the Sabeel ecumenical center in Jerusalem. The Rev. Neal MacPherson, of Church of the Crossroads, will be moderator.
