Bulldogs nearly perfect
from the line in
fourth quarter


Kaimuki was tough when it counted down the stretch in last night's 50-46 win over Castle.

With the score even at 32 entering the fourth quarter, the Bulldogs found success from the charity stripe. Kaimuki converted nine of 10 free throws to fend off the Knights' comeback.

Castle rallied after scoring just five points in the first quarter.

Kekoa Onaga scored eight of his 12 points in the fourth, including 6-for-6 from the free-throw line to seal the deal for Kaimuki.

Led by a whopping 31 points from Sam Wilhoite, the Mustangs raced out to a 32-17 lead in the first half and never looked back.

Wilhoite was at his best when it mattered, delivering 18 points in the second half, including 10 in the final quarter to stave off a 21-point fourth period from the Roughriders.

The Falcons played stifling defense and held the Cougars to just eight points over the next two quarters. Kalani withstood a 19-point fourth quarter burst by Kaiser to improve to 2-2.
