UH offers program
for gifted isle students
to earn college credit


The University of Hawaii at Manoa will host a five-week summer program for gifted Hawaii middle and high school students in which participants can earn college credit.

The deadline to apply for Talent Development Hawaii is March 1. The program begins in June.

Students will attend classes at UH-Manoa from 8:30 a.m. to noon and choose three classes from a variety of course selections, including chemistry, biology and computer graphics.

Calculus I will be offered to qualified students for college credit.

Applicants must have taken the SAT or an equivalent national aptitude test to be considered for the program. For more information, go to the program's Web site at www.math.hawaii.edu/talent.
